Our team and mission

The Navigation Innovation & Support Progamme (NAVISP) team’s mission is to implement NAVISP, ESA’s optional navigation programme for innovation, competitiveness and support to Member States in the PNT domain. Many activities have been launched and are now running, being carried out by the PNT ecosystems of participating States. Over the course of next year, it will be important to analyse the products  obtained by the different activities and promote the results achieved by the programme.

Positioning Navigation & Timing technologies and trends.

Application domain requirements in terms of PNT (autonomous transport, IoT, timing services, etc.).

The Traineeship will focus on assessing the results of the many activities carried out in the framework of NAVISP:

  • assessing the level of innovation of new concepts developed and identifying the possible followon,
  • assessing the increase in competitiveness of firms participating in the programme, directly interacting with them through questionnaires and surveys
  • analysing the success of the commercialisation of products developed
  • promoting the results in various contexts, such as national workshops

You should have just completed, or be in the final year of a university course at Master's level (or equivalent) in Engineering.

Additional requirements

Sound knolwledge in the domains covered by this traineeship, i.e. GNSS signals, terrestrial PNT signals, PNT receivers, with a specific emphasis in the application domain is expected.

Business modeling and assessment capabilities are also appreciated.

You should have good analytical, strategic and formulating skills as well as the ability to work within an international environment. Systematic work, creativity and an innovative attitude are considered important for the holder of the post. You should also possess good communication skills, problem solving attitude and be able to manage relationships, work in a team and be self motivating and disciplined.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset. 

During the interview your motivation and overall professional perspective/career goals will also be explored.
