System- and Support Engineer (f/m)

Location: Vienna/Austria

SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages. As a non-governmental social development organisation we help children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and we advocate for children’s rights. We work in 136 countries and territories, reaching over one million children, young people, families and caregivers each year.

Mission

The System - and Support Engineering team ensures professional operation of ICT services and provides high-quality and quick assistance to our customers to ensure operational problems are resolved as fast as possible.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Provide first and second level support (50% of total working hours)
  • Create and maintain support- and technical documentation
  • Cooperate with our system engineers in operating of IT infrastructure
  • Collaborate in the area of centrally managed software distribution
  • Take part in administration of Windows Server based systems on premise as well as Azure Cloud
Requirements
  • Appropriate IT education in computer science, engineering or a related subject
  • Strong experience with customer support and IT system administration
  • Service minded thinking and actions
  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting MS Windows based environments
  • Solid knowledge in the area of Windows 10 and MS Office 2016
  • Experience with centrally managed software distribution would be advantageous
  • Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V) would be advantageous
  • Experience with network monitoring systems would be advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
  • Willingness to extra work also outside regular working hours and standby
  • Good written and spoken German and English
  • A valid Austrian working permit or eligibility to work within the EU
