Terms of Reference- Summary
 
NRC seeks the services of a consultant to design and develop various communications materials for its Education programs in Zaatari and Azraq refugee camps, to be used by NRC Learning Centres and Ministry of Education formal schools, including children, parents, teachers, principals and other camp residents.
 
This consultancy supports NRC’s broader agenda of ensuring refugee children in Azraq and Zaatari camps have a protective school environment in which the pre-conditions for quality teaching and learning are in place, by providing expertise in the development of quality child-friendly graphic branding and communication materials. In particular, the consultant will be expected to develop a set of materials related to:
 
NRC’s Safe and Inclusive School (SIS) thematic groups awareness campaign initiatives, the awareness campaigns aim to promote a child friendly environment which promote inclusion, wellbeing and anti-bullying and violence.
NRC’s child-based complaints and feedback mechanism: the material will include design of a child based complaint & feedback mechanism complaint form, posters and brochures.
 
Scope of the consultancy:
 
The consultancy is estimated to require a maximum of 20 working days to produce the required materials. It is anticipated the consultancy will begin no later than 1 December 2019 and last for a duration of 20 days. Presence in Jordan is obligatory and routine consultation and communication with NRC will be required during the consultancy to obtain necessary support materials and feedback on the content of the materials produced.
 
The consultant will be expected to utilise their own graphic design tools and equipment, to create high-quality editable materials, which can be used beyond the time-frame of the consultancy.
Delievables:
Branded awareness campaign materials
Design of a Child-friendly SIS Group suggestion form and Re-design of a child-based complaints and feedback mechanism child-friendly complaint form
Illustration/design of 2-3 child-friendly awareness cards about anti-bullying and violence.
 
Experience and qualifications
 
Expertise in graphic design & branding
Experience in refugee/development contexts
Experience in education or child protection projects/standards
Experience in communication design for diverse audiences
Fluency is Arabic and English, both written and verbal
Relevant University qualifications 
A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
