Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified individual to fill-in the vacancy of Finance Assistant to work in Damascus under an employment contract

About the job

Provide financial and administrative support to DRC and partners as per DRC and donor regulations and procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily accounting (bookkeeping) according to DRC financial handbook
  • Manage petty cash and clear cash advances upon request
  • Prepare monthly cash counts
  • Maintain proper filing of all financial documentation (vouchers, contracts, tender documents, etc.)
  • Cash Box counting according to the financial handbook
  • Transferring payments when needed and follows up with partners’ reports
  • Follows a given work plan
  • Routine record keeping
  • Correctly use DRC Dynamics functionalities in area of concern

 

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have

Required

  • Associate degree (Finance, Economics, Business Administration)
  • Minimum one year of relevant work experience
  • Experience with carrying out admin tasks
  • Good communication skills
  • Good usage of MS Office programs
  • Well-developed organizational and planning skills in order to meet deadlines
  • Good command of the English language
  • Excellent command of the Arabic language

 

Desirable

  • NGO experience

We offer

Contract Length:  up to six months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National Staff.
