Medical Officer, TB Project (m/f/d) - National position

Malteser International (MI) is working in Myanmar since 2001, Malteser International currently employs more than 350 national staff in Rakhine, Shan and Kayin states, where our work aims at ensuring communities have access to primary health care services. We also offer comprehensive WASH and disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation solutions, and provide relief after disasters. MI strives to enable and empower the most vulnerable communities in marginalized areas through a participatory and sustainable approach.

 
In support of our work in Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State, Myanmar, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Medical Officer, TB Project (m/f/d) - National position.

As a Medical Officer (m/f/d), you will be responsible to manage all day-to-day tasks of the TB Program/project to ensure effective program implementation within MI Health policies, procedures and donor requirements. Plus, you will make sure to efficient improved quality and achievement of overall organizational targets and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical inputs to ensure quality of service delivery and support in timely implementation of TB / Malaria activities in area of responsibility
  • Ensure that the Malaria / TB Program is implemented according to the project agreement by means of a performance framework and adherence to the National Guidelines
  • Conduct trainings for all the concerned staffs, and to volunteers in close collaboration with National Program (NMCP/NTP), whenever necessary
  • Prepare and develop the monthly and quarterly reports such as PUDR, NMCP / NTP reports, stock reports, etc.
  • Liaise and coordinate with the national counterparts such as respective Township Medical Officers, Malaria and TB Focal Persons in the project area, as well as other implementing partners
  • Participate in the project budget review as well as estimate monthly expenses

Qualifications:

  • Licensed medical doctor
  • 2 years experiences working with teams in a community health specifically in TB program
  • Previous experience in cooperating and negotiating with the government will be an asset
  • Excellent communicaton skills with strong interpersonal proficiency and able to deal with the local health authorities
  • Experience working with INGO will be an asset

Conditions:

  • Start Date: 1st December, 2019
  • Duty Station: : Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State, Myanmar
  • Duration of contract: 12 months (extendable based on donor approval)
  • Salary according to qualification and experience: 14th Month Salary, Home Travel Allowance, Location Specific Allowance & Health Insurance
