Project Overview:

ICMPD is inviting all interested candidates to apply for the Internship Position for the TALENTAS project. The overall objective of this project is to:

1. Support the national authorities in enhancing their capacity to formulate, develop and implement reform policies and strategies and in pursuing an integrated approach; 2. Sustain the efforts of national authorities to define and implement appropriate processes and methodologies by taking into account good practices of other countries in addressing similar situations;

3. Assist the national authorities in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of human- resource management by strengthening professional knowledge and skills. Competitionfortalenthasbecomeanessentialtopicforbusinessandcountries,whichareincreasingly active in introducing measures to both attract talents and better retain those they have attracted, as well as create incentives to discourage local talents from leaving in large numbers. In the case of Lithuania, the challenges related to talent management seem particularly striking, due to the specific demographic and labour market situation, linked mostly to emigration that has been affecting the county’s competitiveness and ability to attract foreign direct investment. In this context, TALENTAS was designed mainly with the aim to contribute to attracting and retaining higher numbers of talents in Lithuania.

1Tasks and Responsibilities:

Assist in preparation of substantive outputs linked to policies and programmes in the field of talent attraction by researching data, collecting inputs, assisting in drafting, compiling and editing;

Draft and edit project activities reports, event minutes, background papers etc.; Support the production of internal and external newsletters;

Support the management of communication issues;

Proofread and edit publications;

Assistance in administrative matters.

Qualifications and Experiences:

Bachelor’s degree in political science, economics, business, international relations or related field;

Very solid command of English, Lithuanian is a strong asset;

Advance computer literacy in main Microsoft Office applications;

Solid writing, editing, analytical and synthesis skills;

Strong organisational skills, excellent communication skills, attention to detail; Sense of initiative and good interpersonal skills;

Past working experience in a governmental institution (preferably in Lithuania) or knowledge of Lithuania would be an asset.

Compensation:

ICMPD offers a monthly fee of EUR 500,00, and will provide accident insurance for the duration of the internship. However, travel expenses will not be reimbursed and Health insurance is the responsibility of the incumbent.

The internship does not constitute a commitment to future employment with ICMPD.

PLEASE NOTE: An intern is not a staff member of ICMPD. An intern who is a non-citizen of the country in which the duty station is situated is responsible for obtaining any necessary visas and for complying with local laws regarding registration with the local authorities.
