Selected applicants will work under the overall guidance of the ESA Division Director and the direct supervision of the Sustainable Markets, Agribusiness and Rural Transformation (SMART) Team Leaders, working in close collaboration with other FAO Divisions, Strategic Programmes (in particular, SP4 on efficient and inclusive food systems) and external partners as required. When activities are carried out in member countries, applicants will be required to work in close collaboration with the FAO Representation in the relevant country of assignment, as well as the relevant FAO regional and/or sub-regional office. Technical Focus Sustainable value chain development for fisheries and aquaculture. Technical and managerial leadership provided in the analysis of value chains and in the development of associated action and investment plans for their sustainable development, for one or more of the value chains selected under the Fish4ACP Project in accordance with FAO Strategic Objectives and Fish4ACP objectives. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Advanced university degree in agribusiness, fisheries and aquaculture, business administration, economics, agricultural economics, food industries, international development studies, or a related field.
At least 12 years of relevant experience in agribusiness and value chain development.
Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of French or Spanish. Knowledge of Portuguese would also be an asset.
