 The Eduction project manager is overall responsible for the successful implementation of Education program in Azraq and Zaatari camps. The manager is also responsible to provide overall leadership to the team under his supervision and actively contribute to the overall Education strategy in coordination with the Education specialist. 
 
Duties and responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate NRC Education program in Zaatari and Azraq camps and strive for innovative and beneficiary centric programming.
  • Closely coordinate program interventions with relevant partners in Azraq and Zaatari camps to ensure a strong and positive working relationship, ensure active participation in all relevant Education forums, including the Education Sector Working Group and other clusters.
  • Monitor the implementation of the Safe and Inclusive School program in formal schools which include the mainstream of: Better Learning Program 1&2, Social Cohesion and child protection principles. 
  • Ensure that child protection mechanism is in place and cases are referred and properly addressed. 
  • Monitor the implementation of academic and social and emotional learning streams in Zaatari and Azraq Learning centres. 
  • Responsible for all grant management documents and PRM documents for Education program - Camps-.  Responsible for preparing monthly reports and provision of input to the specialist for all other reporting requirements. 
  • Support the staff capacity building: Better Learning Program, Safe and Inclusive School program and child protection both for national staff and Syrians volunteers operating in camps.
  • Overall responsible to promote a positive and dynamic work environment for Education staff through strong performance management, active capacity building and the promotion of a respectful work environment. 
 
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Technical CC (X) expertise. 
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile. 
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Valid driver’s license. 
 
Personal qualities
  • Previous experience working in Education and PSS a strong value - added.
  • Previous camp setting experience a value - added.
  • Previous experience with other INGO a value -added.
