Job Description

BACKGROUND TO IRC

Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Working in coordination with the humanitarian community and the Government of Jordan, the IRC's assistance program for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians includes both camp-based (Zaatari, Azraq) and urban-based refugee assistance (Mafraq, Ramtha, Irbid). The IRC's assistance programs focus on supporting health, ensuring child protection, addressing gender-based violence (GBV) and fostering economic recovery and development (ERD).

The ERD program works to stabilize household economies through protection cash and financial management trainings, focusing on women who are at risk of gender-based violence (GBV). The program also builds youth capacity to engage in productive and income generating activities, by strengthening their employability and financial management skills. Also the program work in business development for (Micro and small Businesses) by offering business services such as follow-up, Mentoring, technical support and specialized training.

SCOPE OF WORK

 The Economic Recovery and Development (ERD) Information Management Assistant will work closely with the ERD Information Management Officer to support the implementation of ERD activities mainly being responsible for the overall data management of the ERD Program. (ERD) Information Management Assistant will support the ERD team in general with entering beneficiary information in our system. The (ERD) Information Management Assistant will be based in Irbid in order to work with program assistants from the different technical areas.

Deliverables

  • Support the data management process for the ERD Program, including data entry/collection, data analysis, and other information as needed, while ensuring accuracy of numerical and qualitative data and addressing inaccuracies as they arise.
  • Register clients who come to the center using appropriate form.
  • Support the team with required tablets/ survey’s.
  • Maintain the quality of data by conducting cross checks using source documents, identify data errors and address it with the ERD Information management Officer.
  • Flag any missing information/documents or errors to program assistants and proactively follow up to retrieve this information/document.
  • Update ERD database, follow up on the online applications, and support the transfer of data if the database software is changed
  • Maintain an updated inventory list for the ERD data equipment (tablets, laptops…etc.)
  • Any other tasks will be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent (statistics, data analysis, data-driven computation etc.).
  • Experience working with ONA, Commcare…etc.
  • Excellent using of Excel.
  • Experience working in programming in a similar context with an NGO.
  • Experience in data entry, data management, monitoring and evaluation, or similar field.
  • Organized and very high level of attention to detail.
  • Understanding of concepts of confidentiality and privacy.
  • Good interpersonal and team skills, as well as a positive attitude, eagerness to find creative solutions, patience and flexibility.
  • Fluency in Arabic is required and intermediate in English.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: will be based in Irbid, with some travel required between the field centers.
