Could you play a key role implementing our ambitious programme of work to transform Fundraising and Supporter Engagement?

We're looking for an experienced Programme Manager to join our Fundraising and Supporter Engagement team. We're embarking on an ambitious change programme to transform our fundraising and supporter engagement to ensure that the British Red Cross has the resources to deliver maximum impact for people in crisis.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising Strategy, you'll operate at all levels of the organisation and with multiple stakeholders, with responsibility for a large number of change projects with significant budget implications. This is a programme with visibility at the most senior levels of the organisation.

You'll have a key role to play in scoping new programmes and projects and coaching and guiding peers, team members, and senior staff. Your role will be crucial in successfully building up the maturity of the British Red Cross in programme delivery.

Meet the team

The Fundraising and Supporter Engagement directorate has a critical role to play in enabling us to help people in crisis by raising much needed income and recruiting and supporting committed volunteers. We're a big team with an appetite for change and an ambitious plan to develop, and we want to put our supporters at the heart of all we do.

The changes over the past few years to the fundraising environment mean we need a revised approach for how we approach fundraising. Alongside this, the volunteering landscape is evolving, and we need to offer a more dynamic and relevant experience.

We are now entering an exciting time as we develop and launch a new fundraising and supporter engagement strategy that will provide a transformative and innovative approach to how we raise funds and engage with our supporter base.

This role might be for you if
  • You're experienced - you've successfully managed large programmes and multiple projects simultaneously delivering significant change
  • You've got significant and up to date technical knowledge and skills in project and programme management techniques, processes and controls
  • You're a great communicator -  you've got stand-out written and verbal language skills and can manage relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • You're excited about creating real change in one of the UK's most loved charities
  • You have some experience of Fundraising, Marketing or Volunteering - this isn't crucial but might help you hit the ground running
