About the job

DDG Program Officer will take part in interagency fora and meetings with Iraq counterparts and the international mine action community as directed by DDG Iraq. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

 

Grant Management

  • Maintain and communicate grants management tools, including monthly reports, training trackers, and monthly/quarterly work-plans.
  • Ensure all donor and internal reporting deadlines are met and preparations for reporting are performed in due time and in compliance with donor reporting requirements.
  • Maintain DDG Grants in Dynamics. 

     

    Programme Development

  • Support DDG’s HoP and technical staff in drafting/reviewing/editing concept notes, proposals and project amendments according to donor formats and guidelines. 
  • Support DDG’s HoP and technical staff in to design logical frameworks for new projects, setting realistic and measureable targets.
  • Analyze the operational environment and donors policies to identify areas for growth and sustainability in Iraq. 
  • Prepare briefs, progress reports and maintain communication with the donors to provide timely program updates and generate donor ownership and commitment.

     

     

     

    Monitoring & Evaluation and Learning

  • Support the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks for DDG’s projects. 
  • Support mechanisms for collecting data to monitor the progress of defined indicators.
  • Participate in the drafting/editing of assessment and monitoring reports.
  • Collect and share best practices and lessons learnt directly linked to program and support the country program in making necessary adjustments as assigned.

 

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a bachelors degree in International Relations or a Social Science field, or comparable experience. Moreover, we also expect the following: 

 

Required 

 

  • Minimum 1 years previous experience within NGOs in areas of international development, emergency and relief.
  • Proven grant management and M&E experience. 
  • Proven record of training of national staff and ability to train and mentor national counterparts
  • Diplomatic, patient and persistent.
  • Fluency in written English. 
  • Good knowledge of Word and Excel and preferable relevant GIS tools.
  • Willingness to embrace progressive DDG concepts like gender equity and cross-sector working
  • Familiar with Humanitarian Mine Action

Contract length: 6 Months Contract

Employment Band: Non-Management H

Designation of Duty Station: Non Family Duty Station
