Over the past 38 years Ashoka has grown to become one of the driving forces of social innovation in the world, with a network of 3600 leading social entrepreneurs globally, whom we support financially and non-financially.

With the support of the Romanian-American Foundation and Enel Romania, we also launched an office in Romania in 2017, where we aim to develop a nurturing ecosystem for social innovation locally, by promoting innovative solutions from our network which have a systemic social impact.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Your work with us in the next 9 months will follow 3 directions:

Operational Support. Basically, your work on following this direction will put a smile on your colleagues faces. You will be the multi-task human that will know every single thing coming and going from our little office. You will help your colleagues with small things like making sure that the logistic resources are in place, but you will also create presentations supporting different strategic processes in Ashoka. Microsoft office will become one of your good friends. You will draft presentations, will make analyses based on researching our social innovators international network, will analyze different projects, materials, databases, reports about social innovators, will translate materials from English to Romanian and vice-versa. To be more specific, you will make sure that every little thing that helps Asoka's activity, is happening.

Event planning support. Ashoka Romania’s events are a reason to celebrate. At least that’s what we heard. People in the mood for changing the world are gathering and then only big things are happening. However, behind every big event there are the things that you will make sure are in order. You will identify locations, will negotiate offers with different service providers, will manage invitees list and the logistics around every event and will make sure that the space is set and ready to go.

Communication support. You will write articles about the many things you will read about, will learn how to use a WordPress platform; Social Media channels will be a part of your daily tasks and no, we don’t mean scrolling on Facebook. You will constantly contribute to our editorial plan and you will make sure that is implemented.

Basically, we promise you that you will learn a bunch of new things, you will read many fascinating materials, reports, articles. Concepts like social entrepreneurship, social impact and social innovator will be part of your day to day vocabulary.

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE FROM YOU

• Experience in organizing different events and managing different administrative/logistic processes
• Experience as project assistant/manager
• Analytic skills
• Time management, independent working style and interpersonal communication
• Experience is not mandatory, but passion for social change is.
