SCA Background

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development programmes concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is around 5,500. During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Scope of work:

Data entry assistant is a member of the Education Project team at the Regional Management Offices (RMOs) level. Data assistant is responsible to manage schools related data, check and analyses field collected data, enter the data to the system and compare the data with school document. Data assistant should ensure smooth running accuracy of data processing in close coordination with GESO, education project officer and EFSs. S/he will work in close cooperation and coordination with other members of the team. S/he is responsible for assisting of Education Project Management Team in planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluations, implementation, and reporting of SCA education project related activities. Data assistant conducts schools’ visits in order to assure accuracy of the data and compare some figures with the ground reality. Data assistant spends around 30% of his/her official times in the field/schools

Qualifications & Requirements:

University degree in closely related field as; Bachelor’s in Math, Bachelor’s in computer science or economic.
One-year relevant experience, especially within an NGO, UN agencies or similar organization.
Data analysis and report generation experience is required.
Computer skill at operator level, especially with MS Office packages.
Fluency in English and Pashto and/or Dari, both written and spoken.
Experience of using databases.
Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
Team worker, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
Experience of data management, planning and reporting.
Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites within Afghanistan, especially in Wardak and Bamyan provinces.
Honest, proactive and well mannered.
To be Afghan National.

Main Responsibilities:

Collect/compile CBE class data from the field and as well as relevant education field supervisor, organize and entry to the education database.
Coordinate the errors, omission, discrepancies, relevancy of the collected data to the relevant supervisors for amendment and reconciliation,
Proper entry of the collected and screened data to the database and generate the reports on monthly, quarterly and as required by the relevant supervisors, EPO/GESO and other project management team.
Review the collected data, target indicators for the settled activities, and coordinate the under/over achievement of the indicators to the relevant supervisors.
Keep good and constructive coordination with education field supervisors, master trainers and school lead teachers,
Take care of school data with respect to update database and report any deviation to general education senior officer for further follow up with EFS and clarify.
Translate the local language documents into English for data entry purpose to the database, and vice versa from English to local languages as required.
Ensure the data forms attested by education field supervisors and place in school files.
Improve school data management and reporting in WRMO level.
