ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING

The primary objective of the Programmes Department is to create the conditions, platforms and environment through which religious leaders and other actors, in particular policy makers, can engage in constructive dialogue, thus strengthening mutual understanding and respect with the ultimate aim to encourage them to initiate action to bring about change in the policies of religious institutions and governments, at various levels, build mechanisms to facilitate ongoing dialogue and action as well as strengthen networks of committed and experienced religious leaders, and other actors in the use of interreligious (IRD) for peace and reconciliation in conflict situations in particular.

The Global Practices Hub consists of three teams:

1.    The Capacity Development team focuses on building capacity in IRD for peace and reconciliation in conflict situations (Fellows and Refugees);

2.    International Networking team on the activities undertaken to advocate on behalf of IRD with international organizations, networks and movements;

3.    The Dialogue Knowledge Hub (DKH) team gathers, creates and disseminates knowledge about IRD activities and organizations worldwide and provides for an interactive, web- based hub.

ROLE

Under the supervision of the Programme Manager (PM), Fellows, the incumbent, supports the general implementation and administration of the KAICIID International Fellows Programme both international and regional cohorts. The incumbent supports the Fellows’ selection process, the implementation of Fellows Initiatives, monitoring and evaluation plan for current Fellows and monthly online sessions for current Fellows. In addition, when called upon, the incumbent supports the activities of the KAICIID Fellows Alumni Network.

FUNCTIONS

The role holder performs the following functions:

  • Supports in Programme Implementation both for international and regional cohorts.
  • Updates and disseminates Programme related evaluation forms.
  • Collects evaluation results, produces statistics and draft evaluation reports.
  • Ensures regular communication with all current and Alumni Fellows by managing the Fellows inbox and drafting email correspondence.
  • Coordinates the Fellows involvement in internal (KAICIID) and external (non-KAICIID) events and conferences and keeping records of such involvements.
  • Updates the Fellows calls for applications, application forms, invitation letters and other communication documents.
  • Updates KAICIID Fellows publications (i.e. brochures, KIFP fact-sheet, etc.).
  • Collects and documents success stories and lessons learned.
  • Maintains and updates files and archives related to the Programme.
  • Provides English-French and French-English translation of all relevant documents.
  • When necessary the assistant supports the Senior Programme Manager, for the KAICIID Fellows Network.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A university degree in interreligious studies, sociology, history, international relations or a similar discipline, preferably coupled with a degree in management.
  • A minimum of four years’ experience in the field of inter-religious and/or inter-cultural dialogue, experience in intergovernmental or international organizations desirable.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and apply new concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact independently with religious leaders as well as with academics and community leaders.
  • Proven networking skills and ability to model and motivate the professional poise and dialogical approach of KAICIID among Fellows.
  • Knowledge and understanding of religious and interreligious educational institutions and seminaries.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office and google products (google forms – google drive – etc.) and ability to produce statistical reports.
  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and sharing knowledge.

LANGUAGES

English and French proficiency (written and spoken), knowledge of any other major languages desirable.

COMPENSATION

Starting net salary per month: EUR 2846. In addition KAICIID will provide social security coverage free of charge. KAICIID salaries are exempt from taxation in Austria. 

PERIOD OF CONTRACT

The selected candidate will be offered a temporary appointment for 6 months with a possibility of renewal.
