NRC in Palestine

In Palestine, NRC provides humanitarian assistance and promotes respect for international law in one of the longest-running displacement crises in modern history. In the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza, NRC’s work includes emergency preparedness and response, education, ICLA, protection, shelter and WASH.

Roles & Responsibilities

The purpose of the Logistics Assistant position is to assist in the day-to-day implementation of the logistics responsibilities.

Generic responsibilities

1.       Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines

2.       Assist with the implementation of the logistics function portfolio according to plan of action

3.       Prepare and develop status reports as required by management

4.       Ensure proper filing of documents and securing supporting documents

5.       Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and management

6.       Perform any other assignment as may be required by the Management

 Specific responsibilities

1.       Organise and review a full asset and inventory check for all NRC premises and warehouses every 6 months

2.       Keep the inventory and assets register records of all non-consumables items and equipment up to date

3.       Maintain filing records and inventory control, ensuring that all items are properly registered, numbered and tagged

4.       Ensure that equipment/instruments in the work area are maintained and operating normally

5.       Responsible for the regular maintenance and repairs of property facilities to ensure the utility needs are met and all NRC properties efficiently functioning 

6.       Responsible for premises related payments including rentals and utilities

7.       Maintain tracking sheets for all office related contracts and framework agreements

8.       Perform procurement related tasks and cover the team during leaves and absence

 Our Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a holder of a post-secondary education, with a minimum of one-year previous experience in similar role in humanitarian field and has technical expertise relevant to the role. The candidate must be detailed oriented and good team player. Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal. Candidate is preferred to have a valid driver’s licence
