How can you make a difference? 

You will be joining a team of around 5,000 staff in the West Bank Field Office working to foster the human development of some 800,000 registered Palestine refugees.  

The incumbent of this post is responsible to the Housemaster

The main responsibilities include:

In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the  incumbent:

-      Ensuring the general welfare of trainees in residence and the maintenance of discipline in the dormitories and common rooms, particularly after normal working house, and in the dining rooms during meal times;

-      Ensuring that high standard of cleanliness are maintained in the dormitories at all times.

-      Organizing and/or coordinating recreation activities as required;

-      Organizing and supervising the work of domestic staff, and the nurse in the center.

-      Performs such other duties as may be assigned

Conditions of service 

Option One:  Fixed Term Appointment, Grade 6

Monthly basic salary JD504.0, Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).

Option Two: Limited Duration Contract (LDC- Band C)

Monthly basic salary JD 579.50 depending on the professional knowledge and experience. Other benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave pre-rated to the duration of the contract where less than one year, and family allowance (if applicable).

To qualify for this position, you will need:

Education

Completion of full secondary education with good knowledge of Arabic and English

Preference will be given to BA holders in Social studies, community service, psychology or any subject related to the above functions and responsibilities.

Work

experience

A minimum of one year experience in a similar post or as a social worker or as a teacher.

Language(s)

Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

Other Qualification

-      Ability in leadership and in the handling of mature age groups of students.

-      Good Skills in computer programs “ Microsoft Office”

Desirable Qualification

Possession of a teacher training or social worker certificate.

Should be in the 30-40 years age group

Equivalency:

Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.

Additional Information:

As incumbent will be provided with single accommodation, he must be prepared to live in a dormitory with the trainees in the center.
