NRC in the Islamic Republic Iran

NRC started operations in Iran in 2012. We currently deliver humanitarian assistance in 9 provinces in the sectors of Education, Food Security and livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter construction, as well as Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA). We co-lead several technical inter-agency working groups and provide capacity building to humanitarian partners in country. Next to our programs, NRC Iran also built an advocacy unit to develop joint messages and initiatives amongst INGOs to improve rights of the displaced.

Following several recent breakthroughs, NRC Iran is scaling up substantially its activities in support of the Government of Iran efforts towards an estimated 3,6 million Afghans residing in country and is expanding its programme unit.

About the position: Information, Counseling and Legal Assistant for NRC Iran - (Area East)

NRC is now seeking a dedicated/experienced ICLA Assistant to achieve quality programming in Iran. The ICLA Assistant will support all ICLA activities under supervision of ICLA Coordinator in  Khorasan Razavi province.

Task Description

1. Carry out primary data collection tasks based on direct observation and interviews using Comprehensive Vulnerability Assessment Tool (CVAT);
2. Communicate with the respondent(s) in simple language information such as the purpose of the data collection and NRC announcements/updates (e.g., case updates, instructions, and etc.);
3. Handle questionnaire/assessment forms either on paper or through digital device and ensure coherence of collected information;
4. Provide feedback and document problems in order to improve the assessment tools (e.g., CVAT) and used methodologies/procedures.

6. Liaise with other NRC units, including accountability, to provide relevant reports and data requests.

 Qualifications

• Minimum 2 year of work experience in a humanitarian or development context
• Strong Technical Core Competency expertise
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
• University Bachelor’s degree in law or other humanitarian courses
• Ability to provide high quality technical analysis and assessments
• Ability to produce high quality professional reports in English and Persian within short deadline

Contract duration/until: End of 2019 with extension possibility.
