REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential\: Master's level university degree in public health or public health-related discipline or disaster risk management.
Desirable\: Medical degree; degree or diploma in disaster risk management.
Experience
Essential\: Minimum seven years of experience in health emergency planning and management, mitigation, preparedness, relief and response operations, monitoring/evaluation, training, and policy formulation in disaster risk management including risk identification, readiness and preparedness including several years of experience at international level. Developing country experience.
Desirable\: Experience in field research on health emergency management and in the development of various modalities for training.

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 72,637 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 2627 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
