Christian values and the humanitarian principles of impartiality and independence form the basis of its work in the following areas: Relief, Reconstruction & Rehabilitation; Health & Nutrition; Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH); Livelihood & Social Programs and Disaster Risk Reduction.Malteser International is working in Myanmar since 2001 and currently employs more than 350 national staff in Rakhine, Shan and Kayin states. Our work aims at ensuring communities have access to primary health care services. We also offer comprehensive WASH and disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation solutions, and provide relief after disasters. We strive to enable and empower the most vulnerable communities in marginalized areas through a participatory and sustainable approach.
In support of our work in Rakhine State, Myanmar, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Psychosocial Health Promoter, PHC-MCH (national position).
As a Psychosocial Health Promoter, you will be responsible to manage all day-to-day PHC and MCH transactions of the Programs/projects to ensure effective program implementation within MI Health policies and procedures and donor requirements. In addition, you will assist the PHC-MCH Manager in providing efficient PHC and MCH management for improved ministry quality and achievement of overall organizational objective.
As a Psychosocial Health Promoter, you will be responsible to manage all day-to-day PHC and MCH transactions of the Programs/projects to ensure effective program implementation within MI Health policies and procedures and donor requirements. In addition, you will assist the PHC-MCH Manager in providing efficient PHC and MCH management for improved ministry quality and achievement of overall organizational objective.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate psychosocial health education and promotion within the population in the project areas, according to the PHC-MCH activity plan and outreach field visit plan at village level
- Proactively involve and mobilize those who need psychosocial support sessions (PSS) in the community to ensure that they themselves undertake responsible actions towards a healthy lifestyle and better health
- Facilitate and participate in organizing psychosocial support sessions
- Complete and collect in a timely manner health data and other forms
- Partner with government BHS in implementing health activities
Qualifications:
- At least 10th grade passed, with relevant training
- Experience in relevant field of PHC-MCH and or Psychosocial Support program
- Experience with UN or NGO will be an asset
- Ability to work independently in remote areas
- Fluency in local community languages
- Local person from location will be preferable
Conditions:
- Start date: Jun 1st, 2019
- Duty Station: Rakhine State, Myanmar and its project areas
- Duration of contract: 1 year (extendable) due to donor approval
- Salary according to qualification and experience: 14th Month Salary, Location Specific Allowance & Health Insurance
