WASH Manager (national position)

Malteser International, the worldwide relief agency of the Order of Malta for humanitarian aid, works in more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia and the Americas for people in need, regardless of their religion, origin or political affiliation. Malteser International (MI) is working in Myanmar since 2001, Malteser International currently employs more than 350 national staff in Rakhine, Shan and Kayin states, where our work aims at ensuring communities have access to primary health care services. We also offer comprehensive WASH and disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation solutions, and provide relief after disasters. MI strives to enable and empower the most vulnerable communities in marginalized areas through a participatory and sustainable Approach.

 
In support of our work in Yangon, Myanmar, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Country Technical Coordinator (PHC & Malaria) (national position).

As a Country Technical Coordinator (PHC & Malaria), you will be responsible to manage all day-to-day Health transactions of the Programs/projects to ensure effective program implementation within MI Health policies and procedures and donor requirements. In addition, you will assist the Country Coordinator in providing efficient Health management for improved ministry quality and achievement of overall organizational objective.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical & Coordination Support to Health Programming
  • Data Validation, Consolidation and Reporting of Health Programs
  • Monitoring of project implementation status and support program locations as necessary
  • Evaluate implementation approaches, strength and weakness as well as achievement to reformulate and documented as best practices and/or lessons learnt
  • Communication and coordination with donor agencies (e.g. Global Fund)
  • Carry out any other relevant duties – according to your professional capacities and position in the organization – as assigned by Country Coordinator  

Qualifications:

  • Medical doctor with master degree in Public Health
  • Good knowledge and strong experience in Malaria control and Primary Health Care concepts, organization and programs
  • Demonstrable management and leadership skills, conducting surveys, analysis of statistical data and transform as analytical report
  • Excellent skills in communication, presentation and networking
  • Good, independency, self-decisive capacity and commitment to the humanitarian work 
  • Good skills in English and computer (Microsoft Office)

Conditions:

  • Start date: Jul 15th, 2019
  • Duty Station: Yangon, Myanmar
  • Duration of contract: 1 year (extendable) due to donor approval
  • Salary according to qualification and experience: 14th Month Salary & Health Insurance
