Description

EGNOS Security Engineer in the Navigation Security Office, Directorate of Navigation.

Duties

The post-holder will be deployed in the EGNOS PA, Safety and Security Unit, EGNOS and SBAS division, Strategy and Programme Department, Directorate of Navigation (D/NAV).

The main duties will include:

  • The guidance and monitoring of the implementation of security requirements by EGNOS contractors, in particular for EGNOS sub-systems;
  • The close follow-up of security requirements derivation and design during sub-systems development and qualification by contractors;
  • The management of the status of SOCs, NCs, RFDs and RFWs from sub-systems Contractors against Security Requirements, and the critical analysis of Industry Prime system assessment;
  • The support to the EGNOS Non-Conformance Review Boards;
  • The support to EGNOS Technical Change Boards;
  • The review of EGNOS security risk analysis or system security engineering documents;
  • The support in the definition of security technical measures required to cover identified security risk;
  • The support in the EGNOS Accreditation Process, including:
    • the provision of status related to sub-systems security;
    • analysis/investigations related to EGNOS sub-systems security in relation with contractors;
    • Analysis of impact of security risks and risks treatment plan on EGNOS sub-systems;

The post-holder’s support will be also requested to support EGNOS System milestones (Reviews, key points,…), and for preparation and/or attendance to some Security Boards with GSA and EC (SEC-EB, MSEB, GSAP…) addressing domains covered by the post-holder.

In the execution of his/her tasks the EGNOS  Security Engineer will work within the EGNOS PA, Safety  and Security unit and closely with the other EGNOS project teams as well as with the GNSS security teams located in ESTEC.

Additional requirements

The candidate should have acquired extensive experience in security technologies for complex software system, in particular relevant for large distributed systems.

Experience in security risk analysis will be considered an asset.

The candidate should be able to work autonomously as well as in an international team environment. Applicants should have good organisation and communication skills, a proactive attitude to solving problems and an interest for innovative technologies.

The candidate must be eligible to security clearance by their national security administration.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required.
Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
