The Position

The Programme Analyst works collaboratively with the programme team as well as consultants, advisors, and experts and establishes and maintains relationships with counterparts in government, multi-lateral and bilateral donor agencies and civil society to address emerging issues. S/he must effectively influence counterparts from diverse backgrounds to contribute to achieving UNFPA’s mandate.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: 

Master’s degree in gender studies and other related social science field.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of professional and relevant experience preferably in programme/ project management in development partners/public or private sector.
  • Demonstrate ability to refine programme design and to ensure alignment of organizational programme objectives to national priorities/capacities
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, precision and accuracy
  • Ability to lead and manage team to achieve demonstrable results;
  • Good communication to foster relevant partnerships at a high level of presentation and to maintain existing partnerships.
  • Ability to implementing Gender Equality and Women Empowerment programs
  • Knowledge of the UN system would be an added advantage
  • Experience in a humanitarian or crisis context is an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of socio-cultural issues and rights centered approach in gender mainstreaming.
  • Work experience with women associations is an added advantage
  • Excellent skills in computer/information systems.
