The position is placed in the Finance and Grants Unit in International Programmes and Preparedness of the Norwegian Red Cross in Oslo.  The Finance and Grants Unit provides effective, relevant and timely finance support to the department, including quality assurance and compliance towards NorCross and back donors' financial and administrative regulations.  
The audit and finance coordinator prepare for, plan and run the project audit process of grants made to the international programmes and preparedness department, and oversees the overall planning and coordination of the annual reporting and application cycles, with a particular responsibility for the financial aspect. There are two audit and finance coordinators that work together, but with different areas of responsibility (different donors).  
 
Main tasks and responsibilities:
  • The overall responsibility for the annual audit process in International Programmes and Preparedness, including planning and preparations, review and coordination of field audits and financial reporting and documentation in line with audit requirements.   
  • Cooperate with NorCross' auditor and NorCross Finance staff in the field on the annual project audits, including follow-up of annual audit reports and management letters. 
  • Responsible for keeping the total overview of applications and reports for his/her area of responsibility, and notification/distribution of all funding received.   
  • Responsible for the financial aspects of applications and reports sent for his/her area of responsibility, in close coordination with donor coordinators.   
  • Develops and strengthens administrative routines and processes around grant management and grant conditions.  
  • Focal point for grant conditions and contracts, and quality assurance of agreement templates ensuring relevant back-donor requirements are complied with.  
  • Capacity building of NorCross staff on audit requirements, administrative routines, and updating of NorCross' Operational Manual.  
 
We are searching for a person with the following qualities:  
  • Bachelor degree within relevant field (audits, finances)  
  • 4 years of experience from relevant/similar work  
  • Advanced knowledge of financial IT tools (excel, agresso) 
  • Excellent knowledge of donor grants and audit requirements, including project audits.  
  • Experience with coordinating application/reporting processes to external partners  
  • Fluency in English. Working proficiency in Norwegian (B2-Bergenstest). Other languages are an asset (especially Spanish and/or French) 
  • Very good ability to cooperate and share competency  
  • Very good ability to see details and identify deviations  
  • Good ability to communicate effectively  
  • Good ability to take initiative and accept responsibility for results  
  • Good ability to build networks and relations
