DRC is an international non-governmental organisation, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has operated in Ukraine since June 2007. In January 2013, it closed its office upon completion of its programmes for the protection of asylum seekers and refugees, and for the capacity building of government and civil society. DRC has now returned to Ukraine for immediate support to the displaced and crisis-affected population in Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia oblasts. DRC representation in Ukraine is headquartered in Kyiv. 
 
About the job 
The purpose of the position of the Livelihoods Officer is to assist in implementation of EU4Youth project to support young IDPs and conflict affected youth residing in Donetsk oblast. The Livelihoods Officer will be responsible for coordination of income generation activities, including selection and training of the beneficiaries, disbursement, monitoring and follow-up of the business grants, feasibility assessments of the proposed business ideas and evaluation of the economic impact of the funded initiatives, as well as coordinating the performance of the DRC’s Implementing Partner. Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 
 
Under the supervision of EU4Youth Project Lead and technical guidance of the Livelihoods Programme Manager, ensure smooth implementation of the livelihoods support programme for young IDPs and conflict affected youth; 
Participate in identification process of the programme beneficiaries; 
Coordinate the performance of the local Implementing Partner “Mariupol Youth Union” and ensure its timely and smooth deliverables; 
Support in information dissemination and outreach activities to ensure active participation of the beneficiaries in the programme; 
Participate in the selection process of the business ideas and provide feasibility assessments as required; 
Identify the training needs of the beneficiaries and engage in capacity building interventions to enhance technical skills of the programme beneficiaries; 
Undertake regular monitoring of the funded business ideas and provide ongoing support to the programme beneficiaries; 
Organize filing system for the livelihoods support activities and ensure supporting documentation is in place; 
Cooperate with UN agencies, INGO's and national NGO's as needed; 
Liaise with local authorities as necessary; 
Maintain good working relations within DRC and other organizations in the area of responsibility; 
Understand, and ensure the observance of the DRC Code of Conduct; 
Perform other tasks as requested by DRC management. 
 
About you 
To be successful in this role we expect you to: 
 • University degree in Economics, Business Management, Law or other related fields. 
At least 3 years of overall working experience in non-profit local public organizations engaged in addressing the needs of young IDPs or conflict affected youth 
Previous experience of working in International NGOs engaged in supporting those in need is a plus

Russian, Ukrainian – full working proficiency, both oral and written 
Good proficiency in English is an advantage 
 
General Regulations  
The employee shall follow DRC instructions on safety, confidentiality and ethical guidelines, including the Code of Conduct and the Humanitarian Accountability Framework. 
Employee should not engage in any other paid activity for any other agency during the DRC contract period without Country Director's authorization. 
Employee should not engage in any activity that could harm DRC or the implementation of any project during the DRC contract period. 
Employee should not give interviews to the media or publish project-related photos or other material without Country Director's authorization. 
Employee shall return all borrowed equipment for the project to DRC after the end of the contract period or upon the Country Director's request.
