Job Description
GPs work in primary care at IRC clinics, which means they are the first point of contact for patients needing medical attention. As a GP, you'll see patients in your clinic. You'll examine the patient, assess their situation and decide what action to take at highest quality in accordance with national and international laws and standers. You'll also be involved in running the practice. You might do this alone or in partnership with other GPs. You'll often work in a team that includes practice nurses, health visitors, midwives, counsellors and administrative support staff.
Major Responsibilities: The medical doctor (Gp) will be responsible for performing the following specific activities;
- Responding to medical/health problems presented by patients including history taking, diagnosis, Investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate;
- Applied international case definition and disease outbreak criteria in the work place.
- Maintaining confidentiality and impartiality;
- Commissioning healthcare by liaising with medical professionals in the community and Other NGOS;
- Promoting health education in conjunction with other health professionals;
- Organizing preventative medical programs for individual patients;
- Meeting targets set by the IRC and international criteria for specific treatments.
- Keeping detailed records of all patients and the treatments they receive
- Managing resources to handle targets as effectively as possible, for example, using the NCD criteria and Referral Service;
- Have basic abilities for work, such as maintaining patients' records using specific packages;
- Keeping up to date with medical developments, new drugs, treatments and medications, including complementary medicine;
- Maintaining a portfolio of continuing professional development (CPD) activities.

Indirect Reporting: Deputy Health Manager
Other Internal and/or external contacts.
Internal: Senior Health Operation Officer, Medical doctors, nurses and other health staff deployed at the health facility
External: None
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor degree
Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

Language Skills: Fluent in Arabic, a very good English language
Certificates or Licenses: certificate of general practice doctor for the bachelor degre
Working Environment: The IRC is providing Primary health Care services to the Syrian Refugees and vulnerable Jordanian communities in Mafraq and Ramtha through fixed clinics and mobile clinics and health care delivery at the primary level in Zatari refugee camp. This position will be primarily based in any IRC health facility which can be based at Mafraq and Irbid health facilities or at the IRC field office when required. The security situation in the IRC intervention areas is generally calm and the security department of IRC shares regular security updates to keep the management and staff informed about the new developments.
