The incumbent of this post will spearhead engagement with relevant business owners in Headquarter Divisions, provide analytical and technical inputs and, manage a complex network of relationships to ensure the provision of timely and ongoing support for a wide range of UNICEF staff on use of VISION/inSight, including performance scorecards, standard indicators in RAM and other systems – including quality assurance processes for performance management and decision making.

For Every Child, Results

The Performance Monitoring and Accountability Section within the Field Results Group takes the lead in developing and institutionalizing the use of performance standards, tools and systems for monitoring performance, tracking results and providing feedback. It coordinates efforts to ensure compliance with established data standards and reporting schedules and facilitates the development of program effectiveness scorecards targeting UNICEF's global support through country offices for achievement of results. The team also leads transparency initiatives to make the organization more responsive, collaborative and better equipped to handle emerging business needs.

How can you make a difference?

The incumbent of this post will spearhead engagement with relevant business owners in Headquarter Divisions, provide analytical and technical inputs and, manage a complex network of relationships to ensure the provision of timely and ongoing support for a wide range of UNICEF staff on use of VISION/inSight, including performance scorecards, standard indicators in RAM and other systems – including quality assurance processes for performance management and decision making. This will involve the following key functions:

 

  • Oversight, analysis and quality assurance of systems and processes ensuring standards of accountability and integrity - among other actions, you will provide informed advice/guidance and support the design, formulation and functioning of UNICEF's performance monitoring and reporting systems.

  • Strategic partnership and alliance-building – among other actions, you will strengthen collaboration with internal/external partners, regularly engaging them in dialogue to exchange knowledge and experiences, with a view to ensuring synergy, enhancing policy coherence, and harmonization of systems and approaches to performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Enhanced collaboration and support – among other actions, you will work with colleagues to facilitate, assist, advice and guide decisions, enabling them to perform their duties efficiently and achieve planned results according to targets and performance standards.

  • Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building – among other actions, you will promote creativity and the best use of state-of-the-art information technology tools and innovations to re-engineer work processes and practices, in order to optimize efficiency and efficacy of UNICEF's programme performance monitoring and reporting systems.

 

To qualify as a champion of results for every child…

 

  • You will have to be a seasoned professional in the field of data management systems, with expertise in analytics and drawing business value for internal and external audiences through programme results analysis and data packaging.  In addition, you should possess:
  • An advanced university degree (Master's) in information technology, data analytics, public policy, social sciences or other relevant disciplines.

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of professional development experience that combines technical expertise and situational leadership in data management, programme planning and coordination preferably at the national and international level. Experience and working knowledge of business analytics, IT systems, data science and modeling is of additional value.  
  • Fluency in English (written & verbal) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, French, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is considered an asset.
