UNICEF Papua New Guinea is seeking to recruit a Driver GS2 for its Port Moresby Officer. This is a local position only nationals of Papua New Guinea will be considered.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drives office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel.
- Meets office staff and visitors at the airport and facilitates immigration and customs formalities;
- Determines and schedules the repair and maintenance of the office vehicle fleet, ensuring their roadworthiness and up-to-date reporting of all vehicle logbook entries;
- Collects and delivers mail and documents as required;
- Reviews mileage, fuel consumption and invoices for fuel and repairs and maintenance ensuring their consistency and accuracy for payments processing; and,
- Provide troubleshooting and guidance for vehicle cleaning, repairs and maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum of grade 10 education; current and valid PNG driver's license; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Two years of work experience as a driver; safe driving record.
- Commitment to continuous learning for professional development
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relations both within and outside the organization
- Fluency in English and Tok Pisin with proven strong written and oral communication skills
- Initiative, passion and commitment to UNICEF's mission and professional values.
