Consultant – Social Media Officer
Overview
Landscape Alliance is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Officer to join its Communications, Outreach, and Engagement (COE) team in Bogor, Indonesia.
The Social Media Officer will work under the supervision of the Global Social Media Coordinator and support the delivery of Landscape Alliance’s social media activities across its global channels. The role will contribute to creating engaging content, growing audience engagement, supporting campaigns and events, and monitoring social media performance.
Duties and responsibilities
The
position will provide an opportunity to develop experience across social media
strategy, content creation, digital campaigns, analytics, and communications
within an international research and development organization.
Content Creation and Curation
Develop,
curate, and schedule engaging content tailored for various social media
platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and others.Focus
primarily on English-language channels, with support to other language channels
as required.Support
the production of shareable digital content, including graphics, videos,
infographics, and animations.Adapt
content for different platforms while maintaining Landscape Alliance’s brand
and editorial guidelines.
Community Engagement
Monitor
social media channels daily.Respond
to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Identify
opportunities to increase audience engagement and interaction.
Campaign Planning and Execution
Support
the planning and implementation of social media campaigns and initiatives.Work
with colleagues across the organization to develop content that supports
broader communications and campaign objectives.Support
paid social media activities, including the planning, implementation,
monitoring, and tracking of sponsored posts and advertisements.
Analytics and Reporting
Monitor
social media analytics and performance metrics.Support
the preparation of regular social media reports.Identify
trends and insights that can inform content development and improve social
media performance.Contribute
to testing and optimizing content based on audience engagement and performance
data.
Creative Strategy and Innovation
Stay up
to date with emerging social media trends, tools, formats, and best practices.Suggest
creative approaches to increase audience engagement and reach.Contribute
ideas for new content formats, campaigns, and social media activities.
Visual and Multimedia Support
Provide
basic photo and video support for social media content, including basic
editing.Support
the creation of high-quality visual content for social media channels.Work
with the design team to develop visually compelling assets that follow
Landscape Alliance’s brand guidelines.
Strategic Alignment
Support
the implementation and ongoing development of Landscape Alliance’s social media
strategy in collaboration with the Global Social Media Coordinator.Contribute
to maintaining consistency in messaging, branding, and content across Landscape
Alliance’s social media channels.
Additional Tasks
Support
science writing, event coverage, and live social media reporting.Provide
social media support for organizational events, campaigns, and key moments.
Perform other communications and social media-related duties as
required by the COE team.
Education, knowledge and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- At least 3-4 years of experience in social media management or digital communications, preferably within a nonprofit, research, development, or environmental organization.
- Demonstrable knowledge of major social media platforms, trends, and analytics tools.
- Experience with content creation tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Basic video editing skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English.
- Experience with paid social media campaigns is an advantage.
- Experience working in an international or multicultural environment is an advantage.
Terms and conditions
- This is a consultancy position
- The consultant will report to the Global Social Media Coordinator and work closely with the broader COE team.
- The duration and level of engagement will be specified in the consultancy agreement.
- The consultant will be expected to work closely with the Global Social Media Coordinator and relevant colleagues to deliver agreed social media outputs and activities.
