Mission and objectives
UNFPA SLB organization mission TBD
Context
The Solomon Islands is currently responding to the impacts of Tropical Cyclone MALA, which has disrupted transport networks, damaged health infrastructure, and limited access to essential health services in affected provinces, particularly Western and Choiseul. UNFPA is supporting the Government and humanitarian partners to ensure continuity of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, dignity kits distribution, and protection services.
Effective logistics coordination and real-time information management are critical to ensure timely clearance of incoming humanitarian shipments, efficient distribution of life-saving supplies, and accurate reporting of field needs and gaps. The UN Volunteer will liaise with partners to ensure supplies reach health facilities/partners, collect and share reports, documentation and photos required and assist in conducting the post-distribution surveys.
