The Global Voluntary Carbon Market (GVCM) Unit supports the development and operationalization of a Paris-aligned voluntary carbon market framework that enhances environmental integrity, transparency, and country-driven cooperation. The Unit works closely with national governments, international organizations, and key stakeholders to strengthen alignment between voluntary carbon markets and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, while supporting institutional design, capacity building, and international engagement.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Assistant provides essential administrative, logistical, and operational support to the GVCM Unit, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of day-to-day operations. The role supports effective coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders and contributes to the timely delivery of project activities in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.
PURPOSE
The Senior Assistant plays a key role in supporting the effective operations of the GVCM Unit by providing high-quality administrative, logistical, and operational assistance. The position ensures seamless daily functions of the Unit and supports the implementation of activities related to project coordination, meetings, events, and internal processes in compliance with GGGI policies and procedures.
ENGAGEMENT
The Senior Assistant works closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including
- GVCM Unit Leads and team members to support administrative and operational needs.
- GGGI corporate teams, including the Department of Finance Development, Human Resources, Finance, and Procurement, to ensure timely processing of requests and compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Internal and external partners and stakeholders to support the organization of meetings, workshops, and events.
DELIVERY
Administrative and Operational Support to the Unit:
- Provide administrative, logistical, and operational support to the GVCM Unit to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Serve as the Unit’s focal point for coordination with corporate services, including procurement, finance, and HR-related processes.
- Assist in preparing, processing, and tracking administrative, procurement, and financial documentation (e.g. contracts, memos, reports, payment requests).
- Support travel arrangements, travel claims, and general office operations.
Coordination and Documentation:
- Manage document control and records management, including organizing, processing, and archiving official GVCM documentation and correspondence (e.g. contracts, reports, knowledge products, and official letters).
- Coordinate meeting schedules with internal and external stakeholders; prepare agendas, attend meetings, draft minutes, and track follow-up actions.
- Maintain and update the Unit’s calendar, including meetings, events, travel, and leave schedules.
- Support the organization of internal meetings, workshops, retreats, and external events, including logistical arrangements and meeting room coordination.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in international studies, business administration, sustainability, environmental studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in administrative, operational, or project support roles.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required; knowledge of Korean is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with administrative or enterprise systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The Senior Assistant vacancy is a G5 grade level in GGGI's Republic of Korea National Salary scale, the base salary starts from USD 42,012, depending on the candidate's experience, academic background, and internal equity.
GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
