The scope of IRC Libya’s protection and empowerment programming includes Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE,) prevention and response), child protection (CP), and Protection Rule of Law (PRoL, or broader humanitarian protection) for conflict-affected and other vulnerable women, girls, men, and boys. In the design and development of responsive, client-centered protection programming, the IRC works both directly and in partnership with local actors promoting women’s social and, increasingly, economic empowerment and an improved protection environment for conflict-affected and vulnerable women, girls, men, and boys. Through this work, the IRC has raised awareness among communities, provided training for service providers, and established spaces for a range of psychosocial support activities and access to case management for women, adolescent girls, and children in Sabha and Misrata. The IRC aims to build on that foundation with additional, targeted support to local capacities and community-based mechanisms.
Job Overview/Summary:
Under the supervision of the CP Officer and Senior WPE & CP Officer, the Case Worker Supervisor oversees case management activities and ensures quality protection services within Women and Girls Safe Spaces (WGSS) and Safe Healing and Learning Spaces (SHLS). The role includes supervising and mentoring case workers, managing referral pathways and service mapping, supporting awareness-raising on PSS and PSEA, and ensuring proper documentation and confidentiality. The supervisor also leads capacity building, coordinates with internal and external actors, manages procurement requests, and ensures timely reporting, while upholding IRC standards and VAW guiding principles.
Major RESPONSIBILITIES: The protection case worker supervisor shall:
Provide guidance, technical support, and mentorship to case workers to ensure adherence to IRC standards, SOPs, and minimum protection standards for children, women, and girls at WGSS and SHLS. Oversee case management activities, ensure timely and quality service delivery, proper documentation, confidentiality, and effective use of referral pathways. Escalate critical cases and protection concerns to CP Officer and Senior WPE & CP Officer. Support case workers in conducting awareness sessions on key PSS messages and PSEA in the community. Identify training needs, organize capacity-building sessions to strengthen case management skills. Create and update service mapping with relevant actors, keep case workers informed of available services, and coordinate with departments and partners for holistic support. Identify and discuss urgent and non-urgent needs of beneficiaries with case workers. Prepare and follow up on procurement requests for case management activities and client assistance. Maintain regular communication with supervisors, contribute to weekly/monthly reports, and develop weekly activity plans with the team. Ensure adherence to IRC policies, donor requirements, and protection principles; monitor and evaluate case management practices for high standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree in social sciences (i.e. social work, counseling, sociology, psychology, gender studies, human rights, etc.).
- At least 1 years of experience in working in the social sector, particularly with women.
- Experience supervising psychosocial programs, providing psychosocial support or case management, and/or working on women’s empowerment.
- Experience supervising and supporting employees.
- Strong belief in and commitment to human rights and gender equality.
- Strong understanding of case management principles, procedures, and practices, psychosocial support and life skills programming to promote survivor healing and recovery.
- Emotional maturity and stability to resolve conflicts in non-violent way and maintain appropriate boundaries.
- Good interpersonal skills including ability to gain trust and build relationships.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks; proven self-initiative and problem solving abilities.
- Fluent Arabic; good knowledge of English.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
- Be able to work in a stressful setting and adapt quickly to changing environments;
