Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Procurement Assistant based at New Delhi to provide general Procurement support. S/he will report to the Manager - Admin and Procurement andalso work closely with the Program, Finance & Admin teams both at the India Country Office as well as State offices.
Responsibilities
Provide all Procurement support to the team to ensure timely processing of Procurement assignments.
Manage procurement of office supplies, furniture, office and communication equipment, program related material and other items as per Jhpiego Procurementguidelines.
In consultation with Program teams initiate and close procurements actions and provide support as required.
Document procurement related both hard and soft data and ensure easy retrieval as and when required.
Support in procuring workshops meetings, seminars, hotels and transportation.
Assist the supervisor to develop and maintain good working relationships with all relevant local and In-country vendor’s/ service providers.
Negotiate for cost-effective service contracts for accommodation, travel, communication,housekeeping, security and pantry services and maintain both soft and hard documentation of the same.
Providing support for field procurement activities through the procurement points as necessary.
Closing Open POS on regular basis with finance to facilitate financial and donor reporting.
Providing assistance for procurement and documentation of Leases for ICO and Field Offices.
Preparation and analysis of procurement data for management purposes.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in procurement,preferably in an international NGO.
Advanced computer competency (Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook).

Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
Ability to develop productive working relationships with program and technical staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi.
