JOB TITLE\: Information Knowledge Management Officer

The NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) is deployed in Kosovo to help maintain a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens, irrespective of their ethnic origin. KFOR is part of the wider international effort to build peace and stability in the area. Headquarters KFOR (HQ KFOR) is based in Camp Film City, Pristina.
The Office of the Directorate of Staff coordinates support to the Command Group, serves as focal point for all HQs staff work and as interface between Command Group and Branch Heads level and other divisions and coordinates HQs secretarial, clerical, typing, reproduction, translation and interpretation, as well as library and registry resources.
Under the supervision of the Director of Staff (DOS) the Information Knowledge Management (IKM) Officer is the lead for the following activities in KFOR\: Implementing Allied Command Operations (ACO) IKM Policy, developing KFOR HQ specific concepts and KFOR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), coordinating IKM activities; facilitating functional services across the HQ, supporting KFOR entities, supporting staff work and performs other activities in the context of capacity building efforts..
Principal duties\:
Prepares and manages HQ KFOR IKM policies.
Provides advice and guidance on IKM across HQ KFOR and subordinate units.
Analyses HQ KFOR IKM requirements to identify continuous improvement.
Ensures IKM standardization across HQ KFOR.
Oversees and enforces HQ KFOR Staff Work Management policy.
Implements new IM tools and processes.
Prepares briefings and training on IKM policies and products.
Other additional duties\:
May be required to undertake operational deployments and/or TDY assignments both within and outside NATO’s boundaries
Performs other related duties as assigned.
The work is normally performed in a normal NATO office-working environment. Normal Working Conditions apply.
The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organization at the same grade without there being any change to the contract. The incumbent may be required to undertake TDY assignments, both within and outside NATO boundaries.
The required qualifications are\:
English language – Candidate will be required to have a very good level of speaking, reading, writing, and listening in English. Candidates who are shortlisted for the position will be administered a language test.
Bachelor’s degree in a computer related subject such as management information systems, information science, library or computer science.
A minimum of five (5) years overall experience in the area of information and knowledge management and/or in the application of management of information processing techniques to include\:
Development and promotion of the strategy and policies covering the design and upkeep of information structures and taxonomies;
b.Experience in business process analysis and project management;
c.use of collaborative management tools (e.g. time management software, knowledge management systems, SharePoint, client portals);
The desired qualifications are\:
One (1) year experience of information management in a military or international organization/company.
Master's degree in a computer related subject such as management information systems,
information science, library or computer science.

The work may have many aspects, but is closely linked within the same subject area. Problems broadly similar in nature with differing situations often raising new issues require solutions involving interpretative thinking, analysis and choice of a decision among several possible courses of action..
Managerial Responsibilities\:
Plans most daily work details within given priorities and under some regular supervision. May have direct supervision of one or more other staff members performing related work. Work may include a degree of planning and coordination, following clear rules and regulations.
Professional Contacts\:
Regular professional contacts inside and/or outside immediate activity on functional matters. Solicits and gives information and provides advise/guidance. May negotiate at own level and should use initiative. These contacts, within designated levels of authority, could commit the organizational element to a course of action. Requires normal courtesy, understanding and tact in dealing with others.
Nationality Requirements\:

Before any appointment is confirmed, the preferred candidate will be required to obtain a NATO Security Clearance and to successfully pass a medical examination certifying fitness to work.
The successful candidate will be offered a 12-month contract, which may be renewed yearly up to a maximum period of six (6) years and subject to satisfactory performance and the continued operational need/funding for the position.

The starting salary for MCIV-5 is 6,539.00 € per month (exempt from local taxation).

·An installation allowance equal to one month’s salary (eligible if opting to stay outside of the camp. 50% to be reimbursed if not completing two consecutive years of service).
·A removal allowance equal to one month’s salary, after having completed at least one year of consecutive service, unless removal expenses are reimbursed by any other source.
·Travel Expenses paid to take up duty / end of tour from/to your permanent residence.
