The key sectors of intervention covered by the North-East area office will include Shelter, Information Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA), Protection from Violence, Education, and emergency response through cash assistance.
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is strengthening and scaling up its presence in North-East Ukraine, transitioning from its current Kharkiv Field Office to an Area Office covering the Kharkiv and Sumska oblasts. The North-East Area Office will lead a growing multi-sector programme, including Shelter, Information Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA), Protection from Violence, Education, and emergency response, primarily through cash assistance.
NRC is therefore seeking a dynamic Emergency Response Coordinator to lead rapid responses to emerging humanitarian needs. With a strong focus on multipurpose cash assistance, the role will ensure timely and flexible support to people affected by conflict-related shocks, including evacuation, while working closely with other core competency teams to ensure integrated responses.
As NRC continues to scale up assistance through partnerships with local organisations, including in cash programming, the Emergency Response Coordinator will play a key role in supporting and working with local partners throughout the cash programme cycle.
The expected start date for this position is May 2026 with a duty station in Kharkiv.
