OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

Le Programme d'eradication de la poliomyelite (PEP) vise a garantir que les generations futures d'enfants seront liberees de la menace de la paralysie due a la poliomyelite. La realisation de cet objectif depend de l'interruption de la transmission du poliovirus, de la garantie d'une detection rapide et d'une reponse efficace aux epidemies de poliovirus survenant en RDC. L'objectif strategique du PEP est de soutenir les autorites nationales dans l'eradication de toutes les formes de poliomyelite, sauvage et variante, de renforcer les systemes de vaccination, de soutenir la detection par le biais de reseaux de surveillance et de laboratoires, et d'assurer des reponses de hautes qualites aux epidemies. L'equipe de soutien a la gestion des incidents lies a la poliomyelite (IMST) est responsable de tous les efforts d'eradication de la poliomyelite du bureau pays de l'OMS, conformement a l'initiative mondiale pour l'eradication de la poliomyelite (IMEP) et aux strategies regionales africaines de l'OMS

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Le Responsable des activites de vaccination supplementaires de la poliomyelite se concentrera principalement sur la preparation adequate des reponses aux epidemies de poliomyelite et des AVS, afin d'arreter toute circulation de poliovirus et de renforcer l'immunite de la population. Le titulaire du poste est cense accomplir des taches specifiques, qui incluent :1.Fournir un soutien technique aux autorites nationales, en utilisant les procedures operationnelles standard (POS) et les directives de l'initiative mondiale pour l'eradication de la poliomyelite (IMEP), afin de renforcer les capacites et de mettre en œuvre des reponses rapides et de grande qualite aux epidemies de poliovirus ;2.Aider techniquement le pays a mettre a jour les directives pour continuer d'ameliorer la qualite des AVS contre la polio planifiees, afin de renforcer l'immunite de la population ;3.Fournir un soutien technique au pays pour renforcer les preparatifs des campagnes de lutte contre la polio, notamment en matiere de micro-planification, de formation et d'activites d'amelioration de la qualite ;4.Contribuer a la planification et a la mise a jour du nombre, de la portee et de l'ampleur des AVS, en coordination avec l'evaluation des risques basee sur la region africaine ;5.Assurer le suivi avec AFRO de la disponibilite a temps, pour les AVS et les reponses aux epidemies de poliomyelite, des ressources (materielles, humaines et financieres) 6.Fournir des orientations sur la prevision des besoins en vaccins pour les AVS contre la polio planifiees et les reponses aux epidemies ;7.Participer aux reponses prioritaires aux epidemies de poliomyelite et superviser les supervision formatives dans des zones geographiques selectionnees en fonction des besoins ;8.Utiliser les donnees de suivi telles que le monitorage independant et les enquetes d'assurance qualite des lots (LQAS) pour formuler des recommandations a l'intention de l'OMS et des partenaires de l'IMEP sur la maniere d'ameliorer la qualite des passages/reponses ulterieurs ;9.receuillir les besoins en matiere d'appui technique pour le gouvernement, afin d'ameliorer la qualite des passages ;10.Toutes autres taches assignees par le superviseur.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: Diplome universitaire superieur en medecine et une specialisation en sante publique.
Desirable: Formation universitaire dans le domaine des vaccins ou de la vaccination

Experience

Essential: Au moins sept (7) ans d'experience dans la prestation de services de sante publique avec une experience demontrable dans la lutte contre les maladies evitables par la vaccination, en particulier l'eradication de la poliomyelite.
Desirable: Une experience de travail avec des organisations bilaterales ou multilaterales serait un atout, de meme que la gestion et la direction d'une equipe en vue d'obtenir des resultats.

REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 77,326 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 4298 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
