OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The objectives ofthe WHO Health Emergencies Programme (WHE) support at country level areoriented to enhance the country capacity for preparedness and risk assessment,management and response, with an all-hazards approach, community resilience andmedical and psychosocial support in disaster, especially in high-risk areas.both at the national and local levels. WHO is the lead technical agency inhealth emergencies and leader of the Health Cluster in outbreaks andhumanitarian emergencies. The post will support to strengthen national andsubnational capacity for planning, implementation and monitoring ofpreparedness, readiness. and response to epidemic andpandemic proneand other public health emergencies.DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the overall supervision of the WHO Representative, Indonesia (WR) and day-to-day supervision/guidance of Team Lead, WHE, the incumbent shall perform the following:Provide technical support in the strengthening/maintaining surveillance capacity/network among health programmes and with other non-health related sectors andat all administrativelevels ofpublic health systems in coordination with other relevant stakeholders;Provide support in maintainingand implementing of International Health Regulations (2005) related tosurveillance and information management;Assist in strengthening thesurveillance component in risk assessment capacity at various levels ofnational public health systems and if necessary, participate in RRT deploymentsfor field investigation;Ensure strengthening ofinstitutional capacity in surveillance through conduct of training needsassessments and designing training programmes;Support information managementfrom the surveillance mechanisms through the PHEOC and HEOC from thesubnational to national levels;Support strengthening ofsurveillance in the field, district, provincial to national levels to ensuretimely information gathering to analysis and response if action is needed;Strengthen partnerships tosupport activities and to ensure effective coordination of projects onsurveillance;Ensure that all WHO documents,recommendations and other relevant materials are made available for inclusionin the development of national guidelines and training materials;Ensure coordination of allsurveillance related activities of technical units of WCO;Develop activity proposals;facilitate technical monitoring and evaluation of activities implemented duringthe project periods to assure that best practices and lesson learned areidentified and properly documented for continuous planning;Represent WHO under thedelegation and approval of the Team Lead in meetings and advocacy activitieswith MoH and relevant stakeholders andPerform any other relevanttasks requested by WHO Representative and Team Lead.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: A university degree in medicineDesirable: A post-graduate degree in public health and/or epidemiology
Experience
Essential: Minimum 5 (five)years' experience in surveillance and response, preferably related toinfectious diseases. Experience in capacity building, programme planning,implementation and monitoring.Desirable: Previous workwith donors, development partners or UN organizations is an advantage.

REMUNERATION
Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at IDR 929,624,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
