As our Senior Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring CARE Sudan's financial health and operational excellence. This is your opportunity to lead transformative initiatives, drive compliance, and support impactful programs in one of the world’s most dynamic humanitarian landscapes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Systems Management and Accounting
- Ensure robust financial systems and user integrity through training and quarterly reviews.
- Lead month-end closure activities and maintain accurate accounts reconciliation.
- Develop and implement policies that enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
2. Budgeting and Treasury Management
- Oversee cash flow projections, currency exchange processes, and timely donor receipt recording.
- Lead proposal budgeting to ensure cost recovery and strategic alignment.
- Facilitate quarterly reviews and analysis of cost recovery efforts.
3. Financial Analysis, Reporting, and Audit Management
- Prepare and present monthly management reports for senior leadership.
- Coordinate financial year-end processes and external audits.
- Monitor financial performance and propose actionable strategies for improvement.
4. Awards and Sub-Awards Management
- Ensure compliance with donor and organizational policies throughout the grants lifecycle.
- Conduct due diligence and capacity assessments for CARE’s partners.
- Provide advisory support to accountable managers for financial decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
- Fully Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or ACCA certification.
- 8–10 years of financial management experience, with at least 5 in leadership.
- Expertise in budgeting, accounting, grants/contracts management, and financial reporting.
Key Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in financial troubleshooting and audits.
- Ability to lead, coach, and inspire teams across diverse locations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Experience:
- Working knowledge of donor policies and compliance requirements.
- Experience in the humanitarian or development sector.
- Capacity to adapt global standards to local practices effectively.
