- Supervise the work of Russian Word Processing;
- Process all requests for word-processing, organizing work and prioritizing tasks, performing under pressure and to tight deadlines;
- Assign specific word-processing tasks to the Russian Word Processing staff;
- Perform word-processing tasks as necessary;
- Carry out proofreading and correction of documents and publications;
- Prepare documents for bi-texts and perform alignment of documents in e-Luna;
- Prepare Russian language versions of IMO publications using the latest available technologies;
- Liaise with the Documents, Language Technologies, Terminology and Reference Section (DLTRS) with a view to flagging editorial issues and handling corrections;
- Train new staff and contractual employees on work procedures, processes and in-house tools, as necessary;
Prepare statistics for the Russian Translation Section; order stationery and office supplies;
Prepare documents for translations by identifying previously translated text, carrying out comparisons with the new source language document and preparing consolidated files in the Russian language, incorporating newly translated segments and/or identifying parts that require translation;
Assist in the terminology and reference work of the Russian Translation Section;
Regularly review and update content of the Russian Translation Section’s Intranet homepage;
Perform any other duties as required.
