About the Role
As the DRC Research and Data Lead at One Acre Fund, you'll spearhead strategic Data, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning projects that directly improve our operations and farmers' success. You'll work with modern technology to derive actionable insights that shape program design and influence organizational strategy. You will offer a unique blend of hands-on field experience and high-level strategic thinking, allowing you to oversee agricultural research trials while also collaborating with country leadership and global teams. You will report to the Senior MEL Regional Manager.
Responsibilities
- Implement systems and tools to keep the MEL department running smoothly
- Develop high-quality reports that are targeted to the interests of specific audiences - both internal and external stakeholders- and offer actionable recommendations.
- Be the point person for MEL budget operating independently. This can include: developing annual budgets; reporting on monthly budget checks; overseeing requests and ensuring that requests are following budget; Identify and working on efficiencies.
- Support other departments with data collection, analysis, and report writing.
- Participate in planning meetings and other meetings when warranted, presenting MEL data analysis results and offering informed recommendations on program strategy.
- Oversee performance management for staff under your supervision.

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
- 3+ years of experience working with statistical software (e.g. Stata, R, or Advanced Excel) and ability to maintain complex spreadsheets.
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative research tools, implementing evaluations, designing data collection tools, statistical data analysis, and reporting.
- Knowledge of evaluation concepts and mastery of experimental and quasi-experimental evaluation designs in rural agricultural and/or agroforestry contexts
- Quantitative data skills and conduct analysis such as regressions, propensity score matching, difference in difference design
- Professional or native Fluency in French
