Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Clean Energy Research Associate to join our Policy and Regulation Team. This role is ideal for someone who brings a blend of strong research skills, project management experience, and a collaborative approach to client engagement. If you’re passionate about clean energy and enjoy working on projects that make a tangible difference in Southeast Asia, we’d love to have you on board.

Your Responsibilities

Research and Technical Analysis

  • Conduct In-Depth Research: Undertake detailed expert analysis on clean energy technologies, policies, financing options, and institutional frameworks to produce insights that add value to client projects.
  • Develop Custom Research Products: Tailor publishable, client-ready research outputs to align with client needs, ensuring findings are both practical and impactful.
  • Create Clear, Concise Materials: Prepare research briefs, reports, and client-facing documents that communicate complex information effectively.

Project Management and Strategy

  • Assist in Project Management: Collaborate with Project Managers and Team Leaders on setting timelines, creating work plans, and monitoring project progress to ensure high-quality results.
  • Contribute to Strategic Initiatives: Participate in planning sessions and business development efforts that support ACE Partners' growth and impact.
  • Business Development Support: Identify potential clients and opportunities, contribute to proposals, and help define project scopes to expand our reach.
  • Operational Improvement: Work with the team to enhance management systems and refine operational practices to meet ACE Partners’ standards and goals.

Client Relationship Building and Communications Support

  • Understand Client Needs: Engage directly with clients to understand their information requirements, customizing research outputs to maximize relevance.
  • Build Strong, Lasting Relationships: Approach each client interaction professionally and warmly to foster trust and create long-term partnerships.
  • Engage with Stakeholders: Support outreach efforts to build partnerships with clean energy stakeholders across Asia, including government agencies, NGOs, and private sector players.

Your Ideal Profile

Education and Academic Background

  • Degree: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, such as energy systems, energy technologies, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental sciences, economics, energy transition programs, climate finance, or an energy-focused MBA.
  • Research Training: Formal qualifications in project management, research methods, data analysis, and/or technical writing are essential. Additional certifications in statistical analysis, data interpretation, or clean energy technologies are a plus.

Work Experience and Technical Skills

Clean Energy Sector Experience:

  • We prefer candidates with a minimum of 3 years professional experience working in clean energy, renewable energy, or environmental policy sectors, ideally within Southeast Asia.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the clean energy market, with a particular focus on trends, policies, and developments in the Southeast Asian region. Familiarity with clean energy technologies (e.g., solar, wind, energy storage) and a solid understanding of energy policies and regulatory frameworks is expected.
  • Experience with corporate decarbonization is a plus.
  • Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply if you have the relevant academic background and related research experience.

Research and Analysis Skills: Proven ability to conduct comprehensive research, data collection, and technical analysis on clean energy topics. Proficiency in a range of tools for energy and data analysis is highly desirable.

Writing and Communication: Strong technical writing skills to produce clear, concise reports, research briefs, and proposals. Ability to communicate complex energy information to varied audiences while maintaining professionalism.

Project Management: Experience supporting or managing projects, including planning, tracking milestones, budgeting, and using project management and enterprise resource planning software to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.

Location

This position is based in Bangkok, and applicants must have work authorization in Thailand.

You will report to the Team Leader of the Policy and Regulation Team.
