In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Senior Research & Learning Officer based at India Country Office, New Delhi. The position will work closely with the all MNCH and cancer programs implemented by Jhpiego at national, state and district level for the research and learning activities. The position will report to Country Lead -MNCH.
Responsibilities
• Draft research protocols and develop research tools under the guidance of the supervisor, concerning program staff/external evaluators.
• Conduct/supervise data collection for quantitative and qualitative studies and ensure data quality.
• Support the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data.
• Support drafting of scientific manuscripts/reports under the guidance of supervisor and concerned program teams.
• Support teams in writing and submitting abstracts to scientific conferences and meetings.
• Compile and maintain repositories of relevant research studies and literature as per requirement.
• Keep track of research protocols and maintain the regulatory binders for different research studies.
• Periodically track data from ongoing studies and ensure that documents are appropriately prepared for data audit.
• Support in implementing the approved MER plans for assigned projects with guidance from Supervisor and the program management team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as per the need.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelors in any stream (preferably medical) with an essential masters in Epidemiology/Health Informatics/Population Studies/Health Management/Public Health/Research. Desirable to have PhD in public health/maternal newborn child health/population sciences etc.
• Essential to have 5 – 7 years of relevant professional experience working with an international/national public health organization or academic institute, particularly in the field of research, data analysis, scientific writing and learning.
• Publications in international peer-reviewed journals essential.
• Prior experience in domain of maternal, newborn, child health is desirable.
• Understanding global health and development approach with the willingness to learn.
