Private Partnerships & Philanthropy (PPH) team in the sub-office Hong Kong was established in 2017 to solicit donations from high-net-worth individuals, foundations, corporations, and faith groups. Over a period of 7 years, the team has identified great business opportunities in Hong Kong, specifically high-net-worth individuals, and foundations. Furthermore, the global objective of PSP is to achieve USD2 billion by 2030 and the PSP Unit in Hong Kong is categorized as one of the seven Developing Markets where continuous growth is expected with investment focusing on fully establishment to secure longer term income growth.
PPH in Hong Kong is envisioned as an important channel to deliver the global objective. Among which Gifts-in-Will (GiW) is strategic priority to unlock new funding potentials. The Senior PSP Assistant (PPH) will be supporting PPH team to consolidate major gifts through responsible in developing an all-round Gifts in Will (GiW) promotion campaign, as well as cultivate potential GiW pledgers to contribute to UNHCR. The candidate will also be responsible in solicit gifts from assigned groups of major donors and support overall PPH development.
2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment

Reporting to Associate PPH Officer, the incumbent will work in the followings:
- Support the growth of PPH through stewardship and manage the assigned donor groups to ensure proper file movement and optimize donor potential.
- Responsible in develop and executive Gifts-in-Will promotion campaign
- Responsible to cultivate interested pledgers to make their legacy pledge to UNHCR
- conduct due diligence to research donor for screening purposes
- regularly housekeep donor data, donation history and communications at database (Salesforce) to ensure information is most up-to-date
- provide fundraising, administration, logistics and other necessary support across different PSP teams when required
3. Monitoring and Progress Controls

- Bi-weekly verbal and written reports on work progress

4. Qualifications and Experience
(List the required education, work experience, expertise and competencies of the individual contractor. The listed education and experience should correspond with the level at which the contract is offered.)
a. Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education)
- Completion of the Secondary Education, degree is desirable in Communications, Marketing, Translation, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. Candidates with a degree in other disciplines with a proven relevant professional record will be accepted.
b. Work Experience
(List number of years and area of required work experience. Clearly distinguish between required experience and experience which could be an asset.)
- Minimum 2 years working experience for high school diploma or minimum 1 year of experience for Bachelor Degree or higher, with proven record in marketing communications and event management, account/relation management, telemarketing, donor relations, or fundraising in Hong Kong.
- Preferable with experience in managing, cultivating, and providing service to high-end clients, middle or major donors, corporations is a definite advantage.
c. Key Competencies

- Understanding of and strong commitment to UNHCR's mandate, mission, vision, and persons-of-concerns.
- Subscription to and integration of UNHCR's codes of conduct and core values.
- Professional, highly presentable and possess a donor-centric attitude
- Skillful communicator, able to establish relationships with donors over the phone and via email
- Good understanding of prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, negotiation and closing gifts.
- High level of personal and professional integrity, including the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding donor profiles and personal information
- Good market knowledge of Private Sector Fundraising focused on high-tiered middle and major donors and/or Legacy Marketing in Hong Kong is preferred
- Experience in using relevant databases and search engines (e.g. Wealth-X) is preferred
- Proficiency in MS office especially MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience working within a CRM, e.g. Salesforce is a definite advantage.
- Proficiency in written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English.
- Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends and a commitment to working on events that fall outside of office hours
