Mission and objectives

The United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) manages and implements the United Nations programme on the peaceful uses of outer space and supports UNOV/UNODC with various operational services.

As part of the United Nations Office at Vienna, the Information Technology Service (ITS) through its India Technology Hub (ITH) forms part of the ITS's vital delivery pillars in keeping with the UN's revised ICT strategy and is responsible for Information Technology Support, focusing on innovative, sustainable, affordable and robust digital solutions, cybersecurity measures and trainings to meet UNOV/UNODC requirements, also enabling availability of the solutions more generally across the UN Secretariat entities and beyond.

Context

The Storyline Developer will play a central role in creating engaging and interactive content for the Learning Management System (LMS) modules. This role involves working with instructional designers and subject matter experts to design, storyboard, and produce high-quality training content that supports educational objectives through engaging, interactive narratives.


Task description

The Storyline Developer will work under the supervision of the Head – India Technology Hub and will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Storyboarding and Content Development:
o Develop comprehensive storyboards that define the structure, flow, and key content for LMS training modules.
o Work closely with instructional designers to align storyboards with learning outcomes.

2. Interactive Content Creation:
o Use Articulate Storyline or similar tools to create interactive training modules, ensuring content is engaging and learner-centered.
o Integrate multimedia elements, including images, animations, and interactive questions, to enhance content effectiveness.

3. Collaboration and Feedback:
o Collaborate with instructional designers and subject matter experts to iterate and refine content based on feedback.
o Conduct pilot testing to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to modules.

4. Documentation and Support:
o Document development processes and maintain records of project progress.
o Provide support and training to team members on using interactive content development tools.

5. Other Duties:
o Provide additional support to the instructional design and content development teams as required.
