Project Manager for Policy Influencing (all genders)

 Overview of the position:
 Hours: full-time (39 hours) 
 Starting date: As soon as possible
 Duration: initially limited contract until 31.12.2025 
 Location: Berlin, Germany 
 Department: Executive Office
 Reporting line: Senior Project Manager (grant lead)
 
 Your main tasks:

  • You are the focal point for developing and implementing a policy influencing strategy within a major multi-country and multi-annual program
  • Together with the country teams, thematic advisors and communications, you identify and create policy influencing opportunities at both local and international levels for three key themes: insider mediation, climate–conflict nexus and MHPSS
  • You coordinate the collection of evidence from country-programming to form concrete policy recommendations 
  • You develop key performance indicators to measure the progress and success of the policy influencing strategy and are responsible for tangible results
  • You are responsible for the coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • You organise events and meetings for policy influencing purposes and support the development of policy briefs and other editorial products 
  • You ensure that the organisation is represented at all relevant international fora, scope speaking and influencing opportunities for senior advisors, and support the coordination of messaging 
  • You are responsible for the development of internal strategies, work plans and reports as well as annual plans, budgets, and progress reports 
Your knowledge, experience & skills 
  • You hold a master’s degree 
  • You have +4 years of experience in policy influencing/advocacy 
  • You have +4 years relevant work experience in project management
  • You are a strategic thinker with proven track record of coordinating and implementing successful advocacy strategies 
Additional skills:
  • Strong ability to work with perseverance as part of a team as well as independently, also under time pressure 
  • Strong communication and coordination skills 
  • Agile mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills in English; other languages are an asset
