This position is based at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) - Noordwijk, Netherlands

 

The Rapid Response Team from the ESAIT department, serves as an innovation hub for ESA IT. This team is dedicated to swiftly addressing various requests for new IT developments, working closely with users to understand their requirements and develop adaptive prototypes through iterative methods. You will become a vital member of our rapid response team, which is responsible for developing mock-ups and prototypes for various teams within ESA who have innovative ideas for project development. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain rich experience by working across various directorates within ESA.

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Collaborate with users across the organisation to identify and understand their IT development needs; 
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative solutions for technical challenges;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to elaborate on project requirements and develop appropriate prototypes;
  • Assist in the design and development of mock-ups using technologies like MS Power Apps and agile methodologies;
  • Utilize AI knowledge to enhance the development and implementation of prototypes;
  • Prepare documentation and presentations for project updates and reviews.

Education

You must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of a university course at Master’s level and you need to remain enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

 

  • Strong interest in space exploration and technology;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability; 
  • Preferable knowledge or experience in SaaS platforms like MS Power Apps, SAP Concur;
  • Preferable knowledge or experience in Generative AI (RAG, LLM, Knowledge Graph, etc);
  • Knowledge and background in DevOps is an asset;
  • Preferable demonstrated knowledge with low-code / no-code projects;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment;
  • Excellent communication skills.
