The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a dedicated partnerships expert and people manager, who will lead on major partnerships with the corporate financial services sector in support of our mission to help refugees survive, recover and gain control of their future.
Since its inception in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. This role sits in the Global Corporate Partnerships Team which is part of the International Philanthropy and Partnerships (IPP) unit, leading on the IRC's engagement with corporations, foundations, international philanthropists, and new global funding streams.
The ideal candidate will be a leader with expertise in the corporate financial services sector They will have demonstrated experience building 7-figure corporate partnerships in support of humanitarian and development work, and a robust network of funders, experts, and decision-makers in the banking and finance world. In addition to supervising and mentoring a team of financial services sector fundraisers, the Associate Director will have a dedicated portfolio of partners, focusing on sustained revenue generation and humanitarian impact. Finally, they will demonstrate passion for the IRC's mission, nuanced understanding of private sector fundraising, and dedication to the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion values.
Major Responsibilities:
•Work with Global Corporate Partnerships leadership to develop and deliver a robust strategy for the financial services sector; identifying and initiating strategies for financial services sector partnerships through a variety of partnership models (e.g., in-kind, employee engagement, pro bono expertise, etc.)
•Cultivate a $2-3M+ USD portfolio of partners with a focus on multi-year, sustainable funding, diversified funding streams, growing unrestricted funds, and expanding influence
•Design and implement creative stewardship, engagement and growth strategies for partners within the portfolio including account plans, proposal submissions and partnership discussions.
•Lead a team of fundraising professionals to achieve a collective sector-wide target in 2023; and contribute to the Global Corporate Partnerships team overarching goals and targets.
•Provide best in class People Management to support and develop line reports and role model IRC leadership and IRC DEI principles.
•Serve as an internal, and when appropriate, external focal point for the IRC as related to the financial services sector and provide dynamic thought leadership across IPP and External Relations.
•Undertake special assignments, as directed.
Essential Qualifications:
Work Experience:
-Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent 8 years experience;
-Experience working in or with the finance industry and community,
-6-8 years’ experience of front-line corporate fundraising and/or partnership development experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
-Experience leading 1-2 full time team, preferably fundraising
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
-Management or solicitation of partnerships valued at or above $1,000,000 USD per year;
-Ability to develop thoughtful project management plans and implement them in timely and detailed fashion;
-Ability to work accurately and productively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities;
-Ability to effectively interact with a variety of internal and external contacts with confidence and poise;
-Ability and willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally, and ability to work evenings and weekends for urgent matters.
Desired Qualifications:
-Strong project management skills, experience working on multiple projects with global cross-functional teams;
-Dedication to supporting DEI efforts through development of multi-faceted partnerships that benefit a wide range of clients with varying backgrounds.
Working Environment:
This role may require working remotely full- or part-time (i.e., telecommuting). Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled hours.
Compensation:
Posted pay ranges apply to US and UK-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.
In addition, full-time employees are eligible for 10 US paid holidays, 20-25 paid time off days, disability & life insurance, medical, dental, and vision insurance (employee contribution starting at $135, $7, and $5 per month respectively) and FSA for healthcare, childcare, and commuter costs. Part-time employees are eligible for a proportionate amount of paid time off. These additional benefits apply to employees who work at least 6 months within a 12 month time period.
