A day in the life of a Health Transport Support Worker;
- You will work as part of a team responsible for providing discharged patient transport in a safe, comfortable, and sympathetic manner. The role involves driving and assisting patients with different requirements based on their mobility classification. You'll be an expert driver confident in observing road and driving conditions at all times.
- Your warm, caring nature and positive attitude will bring comfort to discharged patients. You’ll be sensitive when working with vulnerable people and have no trouble going the extra mile to make them feel comfortable, safe and cared for.
- You'll use your previous customer service experience, as well as your understanding and awareness of the differing physical needs of our service users. Your genuine interest in their well-being; will help people in your local community.
Our services are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We apply the same standards to our service delivery across the whole of the UK.

The role of a Health Transport Support Worker might be for you if you have:
- A full UK driving licence which allows you to operate a manual transmission vehicle. (please note that, due to vehicle insurance policy requirements, applicants must have held their licence for a minimum of two full years).
- You can bring your strong customer service or patient caring skills to the British Red Cross.
- Flexible to work outside of normal hours.
