Under the leadership and guidance of the Director General, Independent Evaluation Office (IEO), and other experienced professionals, who will be assigned as mentors, the Junior Professional will be responsible for data analysis and research work in support of various IEO evaluations, in line with the NDB Evaluation Policy and Evaluation Strategy approved by the NDB Board of Directors.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Collect and analyse data on project progress and results.
• Collect and analyze data on overall loan disbursements, project management costs, and financial progress by project components.
• Collect other types of data to support different types of IEO evaluations (e.g., corporate level, thematic and country portfolio evaluations, etc.).
• From credible external sources, compile and analyse data on social and demographic indicators and macro-economic trends at the national and sub-national levels.
• Undertake benchmarking analysis to mine lessons and good practices from peer organizations on relevant topics.
• Conduct research to develop bibliographies for evaluations including both internal and external references.
• Support the preparation of evaluation reports by tabulating, analyzing and presenting data in a variety of visual formats.
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
Position requirements:
• Master’s degree or equivalent in evaluation, statistics, economics, business administration, data management, international relations, law, public policies, or a related field.
• As an entry level professional position, candidates with less than one year of work experience will also be considered. Some experience in a multilateral development organization and evaluation would be an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of data collection and management, and data analysis using statistical methods.
• Experience in writing reports and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of evaluation methodologies and processes would be an advantage.
• Good proficiency of MS Excel, Power Point, and other similar software applications.
