Head of Program - Ukraine

• Ensure quality projects throughout all phases of the project cycle.
• Directly supervise all programmatic and MEAL colleagues, coordinate their work and quality control. 
• Play a key role in developing and defining the mission's country strategy; facilitate down-scaling when required.
• Coordinate the development of new projects (logical framework, budgeting, and narrative writing) in collaboration with other stakeholders in the organization.
• Ensure effective communication and cooperation with partner organizations and the development of their program staff capacity.
• Represent MI in sector and coordination meetings when necessary.

• Advanced University degree or equivalent in social sciences, development studies, international relations, or project management with at least 10 years of professional experience, 5 years of proven experience in similar positions with international NGOs.
• Proven management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while promoting quality, team spirit, staff development and positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Proven hands-on experience in partner capacity strengthening as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills and sensitivity in dealing with local partner organizations and institutions.
• Good knowledge of major international and German donors.
• Context experience in Ukraine is desired as well as stress resilience and readiness to live and work in a challenging security context.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of German and/or Ukrainian is strongly desired.

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duty Station: Kyiv / Ukraine with duty trips to other parts of Ukraine following the safety and security framework. 
• Duration of contract: Duration of contract: 1 year (with possibility to extend)
• Salary according to qualification and experience, insurance package, R&R, 1 annual flight to home country
