Immunization, Vaccines Preventable Disease and Polio Transition unit (IVP), Department of Communicable Diseases, WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (WHO/EMRO)
The IVP unit's main mandate is to support the countries of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region, namely, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, UAE and Yemen, in the area of Immunization. Task description

• Maintain the dashboard on the countries preparation for the Big Catch Up and regularly monitor its variables.
• Prepare regular update/report on the implementation status of the countries and share it with the regional working group.
• Collect, compile, and make analysis of the coverage data on the Big catch Up on regular bases and prepare feedback to the countries.
• Develop tool to evaluate the result and outcome of the Big Catch Up especially the reduction of the unvaccinated and under vaccinated children.
• Visualize, prepare tables and charts on the achievement/activities of countries and region with regard to the Big catch UP and other immunization activities the BCU to show progress, impact on coverage, outbreaks, and disseminate lessons learned.
• Develop tool to evaluate the result and outcome of the Big Catch Up especially the reduction of the unvaccinated and under vaccinated children.
• Support the coordination efforts with other PHC programmes at the regional level to integrate as much as possible of health service in the big catch up.
• Support the team in provision/sharing the countries with the technical expertise on the new policy, strategies and guidance issued from RO and HQ
• Prepare the donor and partners report.
• Support the management and coordination for the Regional Working Group (RWG) meetings regarding the agenda, invitation, preparation of the presentations, contacting partners for their input etc.
• Contribute to maintaining regular correspondence with WCOs and national counterparts as directed by supervisor and contribute to developing presentations.
• Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
